Antonio Di Cristofano

Antonio Di Cristofano graduated from the “L. Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence in 1986 in the class of A. Bacchelli. He performs both as a soloist and a chamber musician.

He has appeared with numerous orchestras, including the University Orchestra of Milan, Florence Chamber Orchestra, Milano Classica, Sinfonica Abbruzzese, Sanremo Orchestra, Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México, University Orchestra of Houston, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, Czech National Philharmonic, Wiener Mozart Orchestra, Toronto Sinfonia, Montreal Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, Slovak National Philharmonic, New York Chamber Players, Sinfônica de São Paulo, and Euro Sinfonietta Vienna, under conductors such as Taverna, Krager, Bosch, Alsop, Olivieri-Munroe, and Svarovsky.

He has performed throughout Italy at major festivals and venues, including Teatro Verdi in Florence, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Sala Puccini at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, and Teatro Politeama in Palermo. His international appearances include performances at the Ateneum in Bucharest (Romania), Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Concert Hall in Denver (USA), as well as in Turkey, the Czech Republic (Smetana Hall, Dvořák Hall), Russia (Tchaikovsky Conservatory), South Korea, Austria, Germany (Gasteig, Munich), Poland, Canada (Glenn Gould Studio), Norway, Japan, Switzerland, Albania, Israel, England, Portugal, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belgium, Brazil, Serbia, Argentina, Sweden, South Africa, and many others.

He has recorded for the Velut Luna and Millenium labels. In 2006, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as at the Konzerthaus and the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna.

Antonio Di Cristofano is frequently invited to serve as a jury member at international piano competitions (including Madrid, Varallo, Cantù, Osijek, Pordenone, Paris, Iturbi, Parnassos, Astana, Gdańsk, Novi Sad, and Hong Kong) and to give masterclasses at prestigious institutions such as the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Conservatories of Valencia, Shanghai, Xiamen, Ningbo, Seoul, Sofia, and Thessaloniki, as well as at numerous universities across the United States.

He is a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club, a Visiting Professor at the Conservatory of Xiamen in China, and a faculty member of the Orpheus Summer Academy in Vienna.
