Mateusz Dubiel
Mateusz Dubiel graduated from high school in Bielsko-Biała in 2023, studying piano under Anna Skarbowska. He is currently a student at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków in the class of Professor Mirosław Herbowski.
In February 2025, he won the First Prize at the 53rd National F. Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
He is also the winner of the 51st National F. Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2022), as well as a laureate of the International Competition for Young Pianists “Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” in Bydgoszcz (2021), the Jeune Chopin Competition in Lugano, Switzerland (2023), and the International Baltic Piano Competition in Gdańsk (2023).
He has participated in masterclasses conducted by renowned professors such as Lidia Grychtołówna, Andrzej Jasiński, Piotr Paleczny, Arie Vardi, and Angela Hewitt. He has performed recitals both in Poland and abroad, including at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Festsaal des Amtshauses Hietzing in Vienna, the Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Cavatina Hall in Bielsko-Biała, the Vigyázó Sándor Music Centre in Budapest, and the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz.
Last year, he gave concerts in Japan — in Tokyo (at the Chopin in Omotesando Festival), Hamamatsu, Osaka, and Kobe — as well as in the United States, Paris, Vilnius, Hamburg, Cologne, and Majorca. Mateusz Dubiel has also taken part in festivals such as the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, the Chopin Marathon organized by Polish Radio Chopin, and the Festival “Chopin Interpretations by the Young” in Konin-Żychlin, where he won First Prize (2022).
The artist is a recipient of the IKAR 2021 Award from the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała for achievements in culture and art. He has been awarded scholarships by the National Children’s Fund, the Teresa Sahakian Foundation at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the “Young Poland” scholarship program.
